Mrs. Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi Appointed Mandate Secretary, Women Affairs Secretariat

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has appointed Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi as the Mandate Secretary for the newly established Women Affairs Secretariat. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the appointment, recognizing Mrs. Benjamins-Laniyi's outstanding qualifications and dedication to public service.

Born in 1965 and hailing from Ogun State, Mrs. Benjamins-Laniyi brings over 35 years of experience in various fields such as communications consulting, social entrepreneurship, international mentoring, and environmental advocacy. Her vast knowledge makes her an excellent fit for this crucial role in promoting the well-being and empowerment of women and children in the Federal Capital Territory.

Mrs. Benjamins-Laniyi pursued her secondary education at Queens School Lagos and holds a degree in English from the University of Ibadan. In addition to her accomplished career, she is a renowned compere and motivational speaker, making significant contributions to society. Her passion for social issues, specifically those concerning women and children, is evident in her exceptional work.

Additionally, Mrs. Benjamins-Laniyi is deeply committed to women's political participation, as demonstrated by her aspiration for a senatorial position within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022. Serving as the Grand Matron of "Hope Again for FCT Women in Politics," she plays an essential role in encouraging and mentoring women in the political arena.

Her extensive understanding of the political landscape and expertise in handling complex policy challenges will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of women's rights and well-being in the Federal Capital Territory. Her appointment further strengthens the formidable administrative team led by FCT Minister Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike and Minister of State Dr. Mariya Mahmoud.
