Tinubu Makes Adjustments to NDDC Board and Management

 By Mohammed Hanif.

In a significant move to ensure efficient governance and effective representation, President Bola Tinubu has made necessary changes to the nomination list for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The new appointments include the replacement of nominees from Ondo State and Cross River State, as well as the reappointment of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

Victor Akinjo, the previous nominee representing Ondo State, has been replaced by Hon. Otito Atikase. This decision aims to strengthen the representation of Ondo State and ensure that the NDDC takes into account the unique needs and aspirations of the region.

Similarly, the President has chosen to replace Mr. Asi Oku Okang, who was originally nominated to represent Cross River State, with Rt. Hon. Orok Otuk Duke. This decision reflects President Tinubu's commitment to fairness and equitable representation across all states in the Niger Delta region.

Additionally, the President has reappointed Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the NDDC for a second term. Dr. Ogbuku will continue to serve in an acting capacity until his reappointment is confirmed by the Senate. This continuity in leadership will provide stability and allow for a seamless transition in the commission's operations.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, expressed confidence in the newly appointed members and reiterated the President's commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region. These appointments reflect President Tinubu's dedication to ensuring that the NDDC remains focused on its mandate of promoting development and addressing the challenges faced by the people of the region.

With these adjustments, President Tinubu aims to create a more inclusive and responsive NDDC that will work tirelessly towards the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region. As the President continues to prioritize the welfare and progress of all Nigerians, the changes made to the NDDC board and management serve as a testament to his dedication to good governance and effective representation.
