In a recent development, Taiwo, the estranged wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has vehemently reacted to a disclaimer issued by the former leader. In her response, she expressed her anger and subtly questioned her mental health, while also asserting that despite giving birth to two children for him, she was not recognized as his wife.
Taiwo stated, "My attention has been drawn to a statement credited to President Olusegun Obasanjo, in which he called me an impostor and made derogatory remarks about my mental health."
She further added, "For the records, I want the world to know that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is the greatest impostor of all time, a liar, and a deceiver. He now equates himself to the Almighty God and arrogantly believes that he possesses the unchallengeable power of life and death, rendering useless anyone who dares to point out his errors or disagrees with his rigid methodology in handling issues."
Highlighting Obasanjo's rise from humble beginnings to the pinnacle of the Army and Nigerian government, Taiwo expressed her disappointment in his behavior since leaving Dodan Barracks. She accused him of consistently fighting against every president who came after him, disrespecting and ridiculing them. She contrasted his actions with other former presidents in Nigeria, such as General Babangida, General Abdulsalami, General Yakubu Gowon, and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who she claimed conducted themselves with dignity and refrained from attacking their children, wives, or engaging in public ridicule.
Taiwo concluded by stating, "Once Daddy Obasanjo perceives someone as an enemy who does not conform entirely to his wishes, he goes all out to destroy them. He utilizes his toxic and extensive network to undermine anyone who offers respectful caution."
This latest development highlights the ongoing rift between the former president and his estranged wife, shedding light on their troubled relationship and the allegations made by both parties.
