NA Denies Allegations of Fraud and Diversion of Troop's Allowances

By Mohammed Bello Doka

In response to claims, the Headquarters Nigerian Army conducted a thorough investigation into the matter. The investigation revealed that the allegations of corruption and diversion of troops' Ration Cash Allowance (RCA) were incorrect and baseless.

It was discovered that the delay in the payment of the troops' RCA was due to administrative issues and not any form of corruption or diversion. The delay was a result of the transition process between the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General Alabi, and the incoming GOC, Brigadier General Jamiu Jimoh.

During this transition period, there were some administrative challenges that affected the timely payment of the troops' RCA. However, the issue has been resolved, and all outstanding payments have been made to the troops.

The Headquarters Nigerian Army would like to assure the public and all stakeholders that the welfare of our troops remains a top priority. Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the current Chief of Army Staff, has reiterated his commitment to ensuring the well-being and welfare of all personnel under his command.

The Nigerian Army remains resolute in its fight against corruption and will not tolerate any form of misconduct or mismanagement of funds. Any allegations of corruption or diversion will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken against anyone found guilty.

The troops deployed at Zungeru Hydro Electricity Dam Project in Niger state continue to carry out their duties diligently and professionally. They remain committed to providing security to Chinese nationals and ensuring the successful completion of the project.

The Headquarters Nigerian Army urges the public and media organizations to verify information before publishing to avoid spreading false and misleading reports. We remain committed to transparency and accountability in all our operations and will continue to keep the public informed of any developments.
