Kyari Meets FAO Representatives, Commends Organization's Support for Food Sufficiency

Abuja, Nigeria - The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, expressed his appreciation to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for their unwavering support in achieving food sufficiency in Nigeria. The minister made these remarks during a meeting with FAO representatives in his office.

Led by Mr. Koffy Dominique Kouacou, the FAO Representative a.i in Nigeria and the ECOWAS sub-region, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the minister. Other members of the delegation included Mr. David Fehintola, the Assistant FAO Representative in charge of administration, Mr. Muhinda Otto-Vianney, the Team Lead at ECTAD, Ms. Adeola Akinrinlola, the program manager, Mr. Tofiq Brainah, and Mr. Basheer Ishaq, the convener of the Hand-in-Hand Initiative focal point in Nigeria.

The FAO has been a reliable and crucial partner for the Nigerian government, consistently providing technical and operational support. Their expertise and assistance have greatly contributed to the country's efforts in achieving food sufficiency and improving agricultural practices.

During the meeting, Minister Kyari expressed his gratitude for the FAO's continuous collaboration and highlighted the significant impact of their support on Nigeria's agricultural sector. He emphasized the importance of such partnerships in addressing the challenges faced by the country and ensuring sustainable food production.
