Sultan, General Abdulsalam, Meet Niger Coup Plotters As Deadline Looms

Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar, and General Abdulsalami Abubakar, are currently in Niger Republic leading an ECOWAS delegation to engage with the coup plotters. The purpose of this meeting is to address the ongoing political crisis and find a peaceful resolution. 

As the deadline set by ECOWAS for the coup plotters to restore the democratic government or face military intervention draws closer, the delegation aims to encourage a swift return to democratic governance in Niger Republic. 

The Sultan of Sokoto and General Abdulsalami Abubakar, both highly respected figures in Nigeria and the West African region, are utilizing their influence and diplomatic skills to engage with the coup plotters. Their presence signifies the seriousness of the situation and the commitment of ECOWAS to uphold democratic principles in the region. 

The one-week ultimatum issued by ECOWAS serves as a clear warning to the coup plotters that their actions will not be tolerated. ECOWAS, as a regional body, is determined to protect the democratic gains made by Niger Republic and ensure the will of the people is respected.
