In a significant step toward achieving his vision for a prosperous Niger Delta region, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of a new Board and Management team for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The President's decision aims to revitalize the commission and ensure efficient and effective administration.
The newly appointed Chairman of the NDDC is Mr. Chiedu Ebie from Delta. Joining him is Dr. Samuel Ogbuku from Bayelsa, who takes on the role of Managing Director/CEO. Other key appointments include Mr. Boma Iyaye from Rivers as the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, and Mr. Victor Antai from Akwa-Ibom as the Executive Director of Projects.
Additionally, Ifedayo Abegunde from Ondo will serve as the Executive Director of Corporate Services. The State Representatives include Sen. Dimaro Denyanbofa and Mr. Abasi Ndikan Nkono from Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom respectively. Representing Delta is Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya, while Chief Tony Okocha represents Rivers and Hon. Patrick Aisowieren represents Edo. Completing the list are Mr. Kyrian Uchegbu from Imo, Victor Kolade Akinjo from Ondo, Chief Dimgba Eruba from Abia, and Mr. Asu Oku Okang from Cross River.
Furthermore, the President has appointed Hon. Nick Wende as the Zonal Representative for North Central, Hon. Namdas Abdulrazak for North East, and Sen. Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir for North West.
President Tinubu expressed his confidence in the newly appointed members, noting that their expertise and dedication will usher in a new era of success for the NDDC. He emphasized that their work should align with his Renewed Hope agenda for the nation.
These appointments take immediate effect and are expected to bring about positive changes that will drive the development of the Niger Delta region.
