In a press release signed by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), President Bola Tinubu announced some significant changes within the government agencies today.
Firstly, President Tinubu has directed the commencement of a 90-day pre-retirement leave for the Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz. This decision will become effective on August 24, 2023, leading to his eventual retirement from service on November 24, 2023.
To ensure a smooth transition, the President has approved the appointment of Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General/CEO of the NIMC for the interim period of 90 days, starting from August 24, 2023. Following this, Engr. Coker-Odusote will assume the substantive position of NIMC Director-General/CEO for a full term of four years beginning on November 24, 2023.
Additionally, President Tinubu has also appointed Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub as the new Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC). This appointment comes after the recent expiration of the tenure of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi. The President's decision is aimed at sustaining the streak of excellence and progress within the organization.
These appointments take immediate effect, demonstrating President Tinubu's commitment to effective leadership and ensuring continuity in key government agencies. The President believes that the new leaders will bring their expertise and innovation to steer these agencies towards even greater heights.
