Buba Galadima, a prominent member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has refuted claims that the party's presidential candidate in the previous election, Rabiu Kwankwaso, is defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Galadima clarified that the NNPP has not been officially informed about Kwankwaso's intention to join the APC. However, he acknowledged that Kwankwaso is open to collaborating with President Bola Tinubu.
During an interview with Channels Television, Galadima stated, "Kwankwaso has not informed anybody that he is joining the APC; these are just speculations. However, in the context of the prevailing 'winner takes all' political climate, if Tinubu is proposing a unity government, it may not be a negative development."
It has been observed that Kwankwaso has been seen in the company of Tinubu since the latter's victory in the presidential election held in February.
There is speculation that Tinubu might offer Kwankwaso a political appointment, although no official announcement has been made regarding this matter
