Tinubu Hangout: Discussants Chat On Federalism, Separation Of Power, Others at Day 54

The quest for true federalism, separation of power, local government autonomy, resource control, corruption, ethnicity, among others were the essence of the deliberations at the Day 54 of pre-inauguration hangout of supporters and admirers of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Some of the panelists, who spoke at the edition of the open discourse at the hangout on Friday, were of the view that one of the major factors undermining Nigeria’s democratic journey is corruption.

While others posited that lack of purposeful and sincere leadership by successive administrations is responsible, they were however, unanimous that learning from the huge success of American democratic experience and implementing same may just be the panacea in promoting good governance for Nigeria, if implemented.

The session, which had in attendance resource persons drawn from the academic and political circle, also opined on the needs to take local government autonomy as a priority for better and functional federalism.
